The Reflections Series is a body of works through which Roberta Boffo explores themes of time, memory, growth, and continuity. Working primarily through intricate line structures and circular compositions, the series draws inspiration from the natural rhythm of trees — their age rings, their silent expansion, and their quiet testimony to the passage of time.
Within this body of work, Roberta moves between ink on paper and acrylic on canvas, allowing each medium to articulate a different dimension of the same conceptual inquiry. The line becomes both a measure and a meditation: a way of travelling inward and outward simultaneously, tracing the relationship between past and present.
The Reflections Series includes distinct sub-collections, each approaching the theme from a specific perspective. Back To The Future explores the movement from outer edge to inner core through large-scale ink works on paper, while The Age of Time translates the same meditation on growth and history into works on canvas. Nuances of Life presents more intimate variations within this ongoing exploration.
Together, these works form an evolving meditation on reflection — not only as mirror image, but as a process of looking back, looking inward, and moving forward.
