Back To The Future Collection

Part of the Reflections Series, the Back To The Future Collection presents ink works on paper that visualise the passage of time through the life of trees. Each composition unfolds from the outer edge inward, with individually drawn rings marking specific years and defined historical spans.

Rather than replicating natural growth, the inward movement is intentional: by beginning at the edge — the distant past — and travelling toward the center, the artist reverses the logic of formation to create a conscious journey through time. What appears as a tree slice becomes instead a temporal structure.

Constructed through hundreds — sometimes more than a thousand — meticulously rendered lines, these works translate time into rhythm and discipline. The outer edge represents the past, while the center marks the present moment, revealing the paradox at the heart of the collection: what is present today was once the future seen from the past.

Defined by precision, endurance, and rhythmic intensity, Back To The Future stands as a historically anchored chapter within the broader meditation on growth and continuity explored in the Reflections Series.
